Flashback Friday: Tina Turner

When I started Flashback Friday, I intended to write about what I'd learned throughout the week.
It's not that I'm not learning anything anymore.........It's just that my brain is awful tired by Friday and I really can't remember what I've learned.
Sad......I know.

Anyway---I heart the decades of the past (especially the 70's and 80's), so Flashback Friday will now be used to pay homage to my favorite style and music icons.

I'm dedicating this Flashback Friday to Tina Turner.

Why Tina Turner?
Because last night I had to test for my 1st stripe in Taekwondo and I was scared sh*tless and while I was standing there waiting for my turn, I started envisioning that scene where she beats the crap out of Ike in the limo.
She's badass.  I want to be badass.

So....Yeah for me. I earned my first stripe!

Now, before I let it go to my head, let me just tell you that there's only one other adult in class besides me.  I'm surrounded by little kids who all rank higher than I do and they kind of intimidate me.
They pick that stuff up so fast and they are wayyy more limber than I'll ever be and it makes me feel REALLY OLD trying to follow them.  I feel like they're all snickering at me behind my back and secretly about to go all Children of the Corn on me .
Okay.......that could possibly all be in my head.
Anyway---thank goodness I passed last night or I would have never been able to show my face in there again.

So thank you Tina!!

  1. Tina is truly a badass!
I love your story about Taekwando class...it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer was beating up all the little kids in Karate class and then they ganged up on him in the alley :-) so funny!
